NicAlert Semi-Quantitative Smoking Test
The NicAlert test will detect six ranges of cotinine concentrations from 0 ng/ml through 2000+ ng/ml.
NicAlert can help:
- Health care professionals to test for their patient’s exposure to tobacco smoke
- Teachers and high school coaches to test high school athletes for smoking or other tobacco product use
- To verify smoking status for insurance applications and smoking cessation programs
- To test subjects in tobacco research studies
Saliva or Urine Nicotine Test
NicAlert can be used to test urine or saliva. Both mediums provide reliable methods for determining tobacco use with this cotinine saliva test.
NicAlert is the only nicotine device that gives semi-quantitative results. The presence of nicotine in saliva or urine creates a green colored band on the strip. Higher concentrations of nicotine cause the band to move higher on the strip. The test strip is divided into six zones to assist the operator in interpreting test results. High concentrations of nicotine indicate recent tobacco use or heavy, chronic use.
COTININE EQUIVLALENTS FOR EACH LEVEL
|Level:||Cotinine Equivalents (ng/mL)|
For Urine, test level 3 or above indicates the use of tobacco products.
For Saliva, test level 1 or above indicates the use of tobacco products
